You are unlikely to find a more powerful detox agent in nature than the one hidden in activated vegetable charcoal. Its highly porous structure allows it to trap contaminants, such as toxins, heavy metals, or pesticides, and it can even absorb gases. What are all the things it can do?
- Detoxification: It traps dangerous contaminants that accumulate on the skin from the environment, unsuitable cosmetics, or those excreted by the body itself.
- Gas absorption: It absorbs gas, which makes it extra helpful in case of flatulence, and relieves a heavy stomach after a meal.
- Cleansing: Helps to rid the skin and mouth of toxins and bacteria.
- DIY ingredient: Activated charcoal can help you achieve a beautiful marble effect in DIY cosmetics and can be used to make homemade decorative cosmetics.
Suggested use:
Adults and children over 12 can mix a level teaspoon in a glass of water and drink. Rinse your mouth with water to flush out any black residue.
To reduce flatulence after a meal: use at least 1 g (around a quarter of a teaspoon) of activated charcoal in this way at least 30 minutes before a meal and 1 g shortly after the meal.
For whiter teeth place a small amount of charcoal into the palm of your hand. Wet your toothbrush and dip it in the powder. Gently brush your teeth for 2 minutes. To remove the black residue, brush your teeth once more afterwards, either with or without toothpaste.
