Product detailed description
That is why the tincture is so potent and rich in active substances that the body can absorb easily. Shiitake is a generally great booster. You will appreciate it especially during hectic times or when you are not feeling quite yourself.
How did this particular tincture win us over?
- It is made with the fruiting bodies, not the mycelium. All beneficial substances are found in the part of the mushroom that grows above the surface. Some manufacturers use mycelium grown in laboratories, and their products may consequently lack some of the active substances.
- It is the result of a double extraction method. Fungal cell walls consist of the polysaccharide chitin, which the human body cannot process. The double extraction method breaks down the chitin barrier with the combination of hot water, alcohol, and UAE (Ultrasonic Assisted Extraction) technology. This is how the manufacturer managed to obtain both the substances soluble in water and in alcohol.
- It is concentrated and easy to digest. Every drop of the tincture will provide your body with the maximum of the active substances found in maitake. Moreover, the UAE technology ensures high bioavailability of the biologically active compounds.
- This shiitake comes from responsibly farmed forests in Lapland. The mushroom used for the preparation of this tincture grows in the wild beyond the polar circle. It is harvested responsibly, with respect for the balance of the forest ecosystem.
Why do we also regularly treat ourselves to some shiitake?
The shiitake (Lentinula edodes) is the second most cultivated mushroom in the world. It is the most popular in Japan and China where it forms not only a part of local cuisine, but also of traditional medicine.
It is rich in many beneficial and important substances for which your body will be grateful. It is a great source of vitamins D, B2, and B6. It contains lentinan and eritadenine, compounds capable of reducing cell damage and metabolising cholesterol. It is also rich in a number of polysaccharides, mainly beta-glucans, and also linoleic acid.
Unfortunately, we can‘t reveal more about the health benefits of this extraordinary mushroom due to current EU legislation regarding dietary supplements which prevents us from expanding on the above information, despite the fact that a whole range of scientific studies have already been devoted shiitake and it has been used in folk medicine for hundreds of years. In Finland, all the interesting stories are born in the sauna. When an avid mushroom grower, a mycologist, a forest manager and a marketing expert met in a steam bath in 2016, the story of the KÄÄPÄ Mushrooms brand was born. These mushrooms are grown both indoors and outdoors, the forest farms today boast over 20,000 birch logs for the cultivation of functional fungi. In the cultivation of the chaga mushroom, they are at the very top of the world rankings. The clean air and carefully managed forests also help them achieve a high amount of active compounds in their mushrooms. The brand also includes the biotechnology company KÄÄPÄ Biotech, whose main goal is to improve human health and the health of the entire ecosystem.
