Product detailed description
We open up our bottle of lion's mane tincture on a regular basis. Veronika likes to take it before an important meeting or before an intense session of reading up on scientific research. We recommend this particular tincture from KÄÄPÄ Mushrooms because of its unique quality. The extract is sourced from organic quality lion's mane mushrooms that were grown in complete unity with their surroundings in the Finnish forest. The extract is the result of a double-extraction process using water and alcohol at a ratio of 1:5. This is what makes the tincture so abundant in active ingredients that are easily absorbed by the body, as well as giving it its distinct zest.
Why did this tincture win us over?
- It is created from the fruiting body of the mushrooms, not from mycelium. All of the beneficial compounds in lion's mane mushrooms are contained in the part that is found above ground. Many manufacturers use lab-created mycelium, as a result of which their products can lack certain active ingredients.
- It is a result of double extraction. The cell wall of mushrooms is made up of the polysaccharide, chitin, which the human organism does not know how to process. The double extraction method breaks down the chitin barrier using a combination of hot water, alcohol and UAE (Ultrasonic Assisted Extraction) technology. By doing so the manufacturers were able to extract the substances that are dissolvable in both water and alcohol.
- It is concentrated and easy to digest. Every drop of the tincture delivers the maximum amount of active ingredients of lion's mane mushrooms to the body. In addition, UAE technology ensures that the biologically active ingredients can be easily absorbed into the organism.
- The lion's mane mushrooms are sourced from an outdoor farm in Finland. They grow on a birch substrate certified by the FSC or PEFC.
Why do we regularly use Lion's Mane?
This versatile fungi has been a part of traditional Chinese medicine since ancient times. It is referred to as a natural food for the neurons and even earned the nickname the “mushroom of the 21st Century”. Some of the more notable compounds that it contains are threitol, D-arabinitol and palmitic acid.
Unfortunately, we aren’t able to reveal anything about the health benefits of lion’s mane mushrooms due to current EU legislation regarding dietary supplements which prevents us from expanding on the above information, despite the fact that a whole range of scientific studies have been devoted to this type of fungi and that they have been utilised in folk remedies for thousands of years. In Finland, all the interesting stories are born in the sauna. When an avid mushroom grower, a mycologist, a forest manager and a marketing expert met in a steam bath in 2016, the story of the KÄÄPÄ Mushrooms brand was born. These mushrooms are grown both indoors and outdoors, the forest farms today boast over 20,000 birch logs for the cultivation of functional fungi. In the cultivation of the chaga mushroom, they are at the very top of the world rankings. The clean air and carefully managed forests also help them achieve a high amount of active compounds in their mushrooms. The brand also includes the biotechnology company KÄÄPÄ Biotech, whose main goal is to improve human health and the health of the entire ecosystem.
